ANZAC DAY – Dawn Service and Breakfast


ANZAC Day pays tribute to all of the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought during WWI. In Zonnebeke the ANZAC Day commemoration starts at 6 a.m. with the traditional Dawn Service at CWGC Buttes New British Cemetery, Polygon Wood. Many soldiers from Australia and New Zealand have their final resting place here. The ceremony is followed by a breakfast in ‘OC ‘t Zonnerad’ for which you can register (€5) via http://www.passchendaele.be/tickets.

The ceremony is freely accessible. Dawn service starts at 6 am. At 4:30 am the free shuttle service starts from Parking C (Bellewaerde – Frezenbergstraat).
After the Dawn Service you can take the shuttlebus to Parking C or to ‘OC ‘t Zonnerad’ for the breakfast. After the breakfast you can take the shuttlebus to Parking C or to CWGC  Tyne Cot Cemetery.
